Basic Function
1. Trade Panel Trade Panel is designed to help you quickly manage accounts and trades.
2. Trade Grid Trade Grid is the main section where users are able to view and interact with their trades.
3. Broker Account Tree The Account List is designed to help you quickly find the accounts or data View. There are five Brokerage types:

  1. Standard Brokerage account—– General investing account that helps you build and manage a diversified portfolio. Standard Brokerage accounts can be individual, joint, custodial, or business accounts.
  2. IRA or Keogh account—- Special accounts that allow saving taxes deferred until money is withdrawn. These plans are subject to frequent changes in law with respect to the deductibility of contributions. Withdrawals of tax-deferred contributions are taxed as income, including the capital gains from such accounts.
  3. 529 College Saving Plans—- A tax-advantaged investment program that can be used to fund a child’s higher education at any accredited U.S. post-secondary school. Plans are established by individual states but are typically available nationwide.
  4. UGMA/UTMAs— A brokerage account that allows you to invest on behalf of a minor. Funds can be used for any expense the child incurs, not just education. Ultimately, the child assumes ownership of the account, with a portion of withdrawals taxed at their rate.
  5. Single Mutual Fund— A account is professionally managed and can be a simplified way to diversify a portfolio.
If you select the Trade in the Trade Panel or Quick Access panel,you will get the Account List (similar to the picture above). Accounts are organized in logical groups that are collected together under tabs.
4. Group By Panel Drag a column header here to group by that column.
5. Time Range Filter First select the Begin and End Date then press the Apply button to filter the trades within a period.
6. Preset View TradeMax provides the frequently-used view for the data grid. You can select one from the Preset view dropdown list or skip it if you like.
7.Quick Access Bar Click one alphabet button to go to the specific trades beginning with the specific alphabet.

Trade Panel

Trade Panel is designed to help you quickly manage accounts and trades.

Basic Function
Actions Group Import Import trade history

Delete Delete selected trade records
Price 1. Download the Price of holding securities in the end of specific Finance year ( used for unrealized G/L Report)2. Download Put Options’ underlying stock price on the day before transaction date. (Used for Checking the Put Option is in-the-money)
Market Download Exchange Market for a symbol
Scan Scan the status of transactions in the current data grid and the concerned trades will be highlighted in red or green:1. Red records indicate the error transaction:a.If there is no position on hold, a close action(Sale to Close, Buy to Cover) will generate errors.b.when option exercised or assigned, the strike price of the option didn’t match the underlying stock trade price.c. When option exercised or assigned, the quantity of the option didn’t match the underlying stock trade quantity..d. When the option expired, the close price is not zero.e. Missing/Inconsistent Data fields by using Qty, Price, Commission, Fees and Rate information.

2. Green records indicate that the closed transactions (A Sale to Close, a Buy to Cover ) close all your holding open position.

Note: You should manually adjust the action , quantity, sequence of the trade to correct these errors.

Clipboard Group Copy Copy selected trade records (Keyboard Shortcuts: CTRL + C)
Paste Paste selected trade records to specific field (Keyboard Shortcuts: CTRL + V)
Undo Undo the last action (Keyboard Shortcuts: CTRL +Z/ALT + Backspace)
Redo Redo the previously undo action (Keyboard Shortcuts: CTRL +Y)
Backup Backup a data file
Restore Restore a backup file
Up Move the transaction records traded on the same day up
Down Move the transaction records of same date down
View Group Group By Box Press the Group By Box button to activate the Group By panel which is at the top of the data grid.It allows grouping data by single or multiple columns. You can either set grid column(s) that will be used for grouping, or enable Group By Box where grouped columns may be dropped at runtime
Field Chooser Press the Field Chooser button to activate the Field Chooser box floating above the data grid.The built-in Filed Chooser provides a simple and efficient way to organize the grid layout: you can drag and drop the column header to the chooser from the grid header. You can also drag any required field from the chooser and drop it either on the grid header, or on the group box.
Outlook Bar Hide or display the Account List
Column Auto-Resize Allow TradeMax to automatically resize columns in the data grid.
Help Button Click Help Button to get Help Document.( Keyboard Shortcuts: F1)

Column Headers


The headers on the columns in the grid have the following meanings.

Column Header Meaning
Action Action name in TradeMax.
Buy to Open / Long — Buy Stock/Option to Open a Long position
Sell to Close/ Closed Long— Sell Stock/Option to Close a Long position
Buy to Close — Buy Stock/Option to Close a Short position
Sell to Open — Sell Stock/Option to Open a Short position
dividend, Journal, stock merge etc.
ActionName Action name in your brokerage trade history.
For example, Buy, sell, dividend, Journal, stock merge etc.
Account Trade account in TradeMax
Amount Trade amount
Commission Trade broker commissions (Including fees)
DeferCost Deferloss produced by wash sales from last year
ExpireDate Expire date of option or future.
ID Trade ID in TradeMax.
Market Exchange market where you bought the financial product. For instance, NASDAQ.
Notes Any information of the trade record
Price Security price
Quantity Number of shares
Rate Option or future rate. An option has a 100 “Rate” which means an option contract is for 100 shares of the underlying stock.
StrikePrice The strike price of the underlying stock in the option or future
Symbol Security Ticker Symbol
TickerMatch The strike price of the underlying stock in the option or future
TradeDate Trade date
TradeTime Trade time
TradeMatch The amount of “Force-Match” for tax purpose.
Type Security type. For instance, stocks and mutual funds, options on stocks, Single-Stock-Futures, futures, currencies etc.

Basic Function
1. Main Button Click Main Button to print your documents or choose View or enter your Name and SSN with the Option button in the Main Button.
2. Ribbon The Ribbon is designed to help you quickly find the commands that you need to complete a task. Commands are organized in logical groups that are collected together under tabs.
Trade Tab is designed to help you quickly switch to Trade View to manage accounts and trades.
Security Tab is designed to help you quickly switch to Security View to manage Security list.
Forex Rates Tab is designed to help you quickly switch to Forex Rates View to manage forex rates.
3. Trade Grid Trade Grid is the main section where users are able to view and interact with their trades.
Symbol Grid is the main section where users are able to view their symbols after they import their trades into TradeMax
Forex Rates Grid is the main section where users are able to view and download historical foreign exchange rates.
4. Broker Tree The Trade Account List is designed to help you quickly find the accounts or data View.
The Security List is designed to help you quickly find the symbols.
The Forex Rates List is designed to help you quickly find s-currency.
Click the Outlook Bar in the Ribbon Tab to hide it.
5. Group By Box Drag a column header here to group by that column.
6. Preset View TradeMax provides the frequently-used view for the data grid. You can select one from the Preset view dropdown list or skip it if you like.
7. Quick Access Panel Switch your work view.
Click the Trade button on the Quick Access panel to switch to Trade View.
Click the Security button on the Quick Access panel to switch to Security View.
Click the Forex Rates button on the Quick Access panel to switch to Forex Rates View.
8. Information Bar Show the implement information of the above data grid.
9. Output Tab Press the Output Tab to display basic information.
10. Scan Tab Press the Scan Tab to display scan information.
11. Price History Tab Press the Price History Tab to display symbols’ price in specific time.
12. Quick Access Toolbar

The Quick Access Toolbar is a customizable toolbar containing a set of commands that are independent of the tab that is currently displayed.You can add buttons that represent commands to the Quick Access Toolbar.

13. Title Bar The Title Bar provides the version of TradeMax you are using (for example, Trade-Neutral Trend TradeMax Premier Edition).
14. Style Button Click Style button to select your favorite skin of your TradeMax .
15. Help Button Press the Help button to view the information of the current vision. In addition, from its dropdown list, you can get the online help, Register&Purchase, Update your TradeMax, Contact us etc.
16. Time Range Filter First select the Begin and End Date then press the Apply button to filter the trades within a period.
17. Symbol Trade Quick Access Bar Click one alphabet button to go to the specific trades beginning with the specific alphabet.
18. Field Chooser Set column headers removed from the data grid heading.
19. Auto Hide Button Press the Auto Hide Button to hide the information window.

Column Headers Definitions

Base Amount The “Base Amount” will be calculated automatically when you enter the“Base Rate“.
USD Amount The “USD Amount” will be calculated automatically when you enter the“USD Rate
Commission Trade broker commissions (Including fees)
Base Commission Automatically calculates Base Commission by Commission* Base Rate.
USD Commission Automatically calculates USD Commission by Base Commission* USD Rate.
Base Currency Domestic currency type or accounting currency type for accounting purposes. Currently IB allows customer to choose different basis currency other than USD.
USD Currency Settlement currency for tax purposes
OCurrency Original Trade Currency type
DeferCost Deferloss produced by wash sales from the previous year
ExpireDate Expiry date of option or future.
ID Trade ID in TradeMax.
Market Exchange market where you bought the financial product. For instance, NASDAQ.
