Export trade data from 1 account to another

Q:How do I export the baseline or trade data  from 1 account in 1 file to an account in another file?

For example you want to transfer fy2013’s baseline to another tmx file

A)Export trade data from one account
You can select your broker tree view,goto fy2013->baseline view,right click the mouse.
In context menu select “export trades as csv file”,
Select target folder and input filename to create your filename.csv

B)Import trade data from trademax csv file
Open another tmx file,

Goto the new broker’s fy2013,right click the menu
for baseline import use “import baseline”  function.
for normal trade use “import trade” function
Select import->import baseline or import trade function
In import dialog box select import from local file,then select the filename.csv
TradeMax will auto detect the csv file to import.

Import Trade History

Technically, TradeMax supports every broker, known or unknown, as long as this broker provides a statement in CSV/EXCEL format or Quicken Qif,QFX fomart / Money OFX format or OFX server connection. Without changing codes, TradeMax allows users to define their own templates which suit the CSV format of their broker data.

There are Four options to import your trade data into TradeMax:

A) Import Trades from online Brokerage Server(OFX Server)

If you want to download trades from online brokerage account, select this option. Please check our supported broker’s OFX server list, if your brokerage provide ofx data service and not listed in our list, you can send your broker name & ofx server url to contact form we will add it to TradeMax.

B)Import Trade Activity data from local file (Recommended)

  1. Built-in Broker Profile: Currently TradeMax already havs built-in template for IB and ETrade, ScotTrade, OptionsXpress, TdAmeritrade, Schwab, Person,Sogotrade and more.(Please check our supported brokers list),
  2. File Profile: TradeMax can support Quicken Interchange Format(*.QIF), Micorsoft Excel(*.xls), Open Financial Exchange(*.OFX) file, Quicken Financial Exchange(*.QFX) file

  3. Unknown column csv or excel file:You can either define your own template with trademax profile wizard function or send us a sample CSV or Xls data file with 8~10 lines of transactions in it for importing, we will build template for customer without any extra cost.

Please Note: Some Gains & Losses Reports do not have year end open postion,this will effect wash sale calculating.

D) Import Trade data copied from broker Transaction History Report

Download Data from Assent LLC

To download data file from Assent LLC:

  1. Log into your Assent LLC account.
  2. Select Customer Accounts then click Clearance Activity
  3. Select your account from the drop-down-list and enter a date , then click the Clearance Activity button:
  4. A web based html trade report will be generated,You can select trade data in the HTML table with column header.
  5. Copy the report data to a Excel document and save it as XLS file.
  6. Run TradeMax , Select Assent Account to import trade activity data from local file. Click the Next Button
  7. In Profile Name Dropdown list,Please select Profile Wizard(*.xls).

Download Data from Goldman Sachs

To download data file from Goldman Sachs:

  1. Log to your Goldman Sachs account.
  2. Select Activity from the Online Reports menu.
  3. Set the report parameters then click the Search button.
  4. Click the Excel icon (just above the Search button).
  5. Click Save button.
  6. Run TradeMax to import trade activity data from local file. Click Next Button 
  7. In Profile Name Dropdown list,Please select Profile Wizard(*.xls).


Download From Penson Financial

To download data file from Penson Financial:

  1. Login your Penson Financial account.

  2. Click Account Information > Trade Activity.

  3. Set specific time range and click Go button.
  4. After your Trade History report displays, your report should contain the right columns as shown below:Account Type | Trade Date | Settle Date | Exec Time | Trade Number | CUSIP/Symbol | ISIN | Description | Buy/Sell | Qy | Price | Principal Amt | Comm | Other Comm | Net Amount | Curr
  5. Click Download Data icon.

  6. Select Delimited text file and Comma delimited and then click the Download now button.
  7. Press Save to save the report as txt file.
  8. Your downloaded TXT file must be in this format as shown below, otherwise, you should set your profile in profile wizard dialog box to import your data into TradeMax.

    If you find the downloaded file format is different from the above formats, you should set your profile in Profile Wizard.

  9. Run TradeMax to import trade activity data from local file.
